Working Princess

Tonight the Princess had to work and the king and queen ate leftovers... BORING! The princess is loving cooking. It is so much fun to cook a meal and have people LOVE it. It is a really cool feeling to know that the people that you love the most in your life are eating healthy and loving what they are eating. The Princess thinks that she will keep on learning cause this is wonderful! Above is not a picture of the Princess by the way... it is a picture of a dream...

Tuesday

Enchiladas! With little royals!

Last night the princess made the chicken and she cut it up with the spatula while she was cooking it. Then she added monterey jack cheese and some mild salsa. The princess then let that sit in the fridge overnight and tonight it was very easy to roll the enchiladas. Now the reason that the princess did this was because she was having some very special guests! The pretty, pretty princess and Prince Trains and la princesa their mother. It was a happy fun filled, laughter filled night. So anyway! back to the enchiladas.

The mixture in the enchiladas was chicken, salsa and monterey jack cheese. This was really good and the princess thinks that it would be very good over rice. But that is for another day.

Over the enchiladas the princess put a mixture of chicken soup mix, monterey jack cheese and salsa. The princess added a little water because it seemed really thick.

This was the fun part. The princess once worked for a cruel ogre and she learned how to roll tortillas, see all things DO work together for good! So the Princess had fun rolling them. If anyone has any questions on how to roll the enchiladas please feel free to ask and the princess will post step by step pictures.

The princess then added the chicken soup mixture...

then the cheese.....

AND ENCHILADAS!!! There were NONE left! It was great. The Princess can't wait to cook enchiladas for the Italian Pilot!

Monday

Blessings!

The princess is very blessed to know the Italian pilot so that she does not have to spend thousands of dollars and go to school to learn how to cook... Thank you Lord, thank you Italian pilot.

Sick Princess

The princess has been sick so the king and the queen are fending for themselves. The princess should be good soon though.... stand by alpha one.

Saturday

Meatloaf and a tip 2-20-2010

The Italian Pilot is always talking about his tool box when it comes to the kitchen. SO, the Princess got a basket for all of the spices and such to go in. It is really nice because when The Princess is getting ready to cook she pulls it out of the pantry and they are all there handy and ready to go.

First the Princess took two pieces of bread and broke them all up.

Then the Princess added the spices. The princess is still learning so she doesn't do them all from scratch yet. So the princess used the packet from McCormick.

Then two eggs were added by the Princess.

Then some milk... You can hardly tell but you can see it a little in the left hand side of the picture, directly across from the eggs.. see it....

Then the Princess added a pound of meat.

Then for some odd reason the Princess used her royal hand to mix it all... Kind of seemed like fun like playing in some kind of meaty sand like a little kid. It was fun, you should try it. As you can see though since the Princess used her "clean" hand to take the picture it is always best to keep on hand for the messy stuff and one for the clean stuff.

Then she put it in the pan. The Princess has to work tomorrow so she just made this for the king and queen to throw in the oven. Hopefully the queen will remember to take a pic for the blog.. if not, the princess will make another one. The king and queen are having baked potatoes with the meatloaf.

The Princess makes a pie!

The princess and the Italian Pilot were talking to a brother in Christ about desserts. The Princess likes dessert... a lot.. maybe to much, but that is another issue for another blog. So the brother e-mail the how to to the Princess and she DID IT!!!

It all started with sugar, baking soda and salt in a pan, on the stove. It looked like things were going well.

Then the Princess hit a bit of a snag. The directions said to use 4 egg yolks. She sent a text to the Italian pilot. "When the recipe calls for egg yolk it is the yellow part right" While she was waiting for a reply she found this video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch#playnext=1&playnext_from=TL&videos=YdveQLJa7Fo&v=t-OwbEy-Vxk The princess does not know how to make that a link.... so you could highlight it and paste it in the tool bar.

Then she got a text back from the Italian Pilot that said basically the same thing so she went for it... and LOOK!! It worked!

This is the part where the princess was a little concerned. The directions said to stir it the whole time. The Princess did a little research and sometimes pudding burns when you are making it. The Princess prayed that it would work.... and... wait for it.. wait for it...

IT DID WORK!!! See how it got kind of thick. The princess followed the directions and it worked!! Now, I am leaving some of the instructions out. If you would like the instructions just leave a comment and the princess will send them to you.

Finally the Princess added the vanilla, and the coconut and butter... and LOOK it is a PIE!!!

Friday

dinner 2-19-2010

Tonight the Princess didn't feel good so the Queen ordered Pizza Hut.

Thursday

dinner from 2-18-10 and an Italian pilot tip!

So tonight was green beans with almonds, dijon parsley potatoes and orange pork chops. The green beans were given an A. The dijon parsley potatoes were given an F and the pork chops were given an A. The queen does not like mustard and the Princess thinks that the potatoes would be good with less mustard.

Then the princess added the parsley and the finely chopped green onions

The princess covered the potatoes with Dijon mustard.

First the Princess cut up the potatoes. The princess overslept so she cut them up very tiny so they would cook faster.

The green beans were GREAT they were just green beans, almonds and a little bit of oil. The almonds were terrific!

Here are the pork chops.

add the sauce to the pan and cover the pork chops.

Mix in a bowl the orange juice, dark brown sugar, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce

Then you put the oranges on the pork chops and cover them and cook for about 10 mins.

First heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Brown pork chops well.

The Italian pilot told the Princess to use tongs to cook the meat! WOW! What a great tip! It was very helpful!

First cookbook

SO the princess sets out to learn how to cook. Using the help of both the Italian pilot and the Lord. She finds this cook book and is very happy to find that it is ONLY $5.00 at Big Lots. What a find!

Introducing the Princess

Once upon a time there was a princess. This princess could do a lot of things. She could read, write, tie her shoes and sing. There was one thing that the princess could not do and that was cook. This was very sad because it meant that the princess was only able to eat the food of the HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE beast..... fastfooddia.

Now, fastfoodia was found every where you looked. In fact the horrible beast had many names and many faces. They are so vile that I will not type them here as not to offend the reader. Also fastfoodia is so powerful that sometimes just the mention of the names that the beast uses would cause the princess to desire them. So we will stick to not putting the names out there.

SO, now you know the biggest (literally) problem that the princess faced. She feared she would face it all alone. THEN, one day she was blessed enough to meet the Italian pilot. The Italian pilot knew many many things to. He was rather smart. He could spell, read, tie his shoes, fly a plane and most of all much to the delight of the Princess he could.... cook. The Princess laughed and shouted with glee when she heard this! The Italian pilot could cook FOR her. BUT, she quickly found out that the Italian pilot lived 3,000 long, long, long miles from her making it impossible for him to cook for her. The Italian pilot said that it would not be a problem since he could help her. The princess, being a little thick headed, took some time but after her 45th day of fastfoodia decided to listen to the Italian pilot.

Now at first the princess did not believe the Italian pilot when he said that cooking was fun. She had come to believe that it was fun to talk into the little box and pull forward to the window and give the people all her money... (kind of like a stick up) but, the Italian pilot was very persistent. He would tell her about foods that she had never heard of because they had not been fried and wrapped in a paper wrapper and passed out a window. He regaled her with tales of cooking and chopping and dicing and all kinds of fun things.

The Princess decided to try it. The first thing that the Princess cooked was 15 bean soup. She put the beans in water and soaked them overnight. Just as the Italian pilot said. Then the next day she put the to a boil and then turned the heat down to one. After several hours she asked the Italian pilot why her beans were not done... that was the day that the Italian pilot taught the Princess about "simmer"

After several weeks of little tips here and there the princess decided to *gasp* cook all the dinner meals for the royal kingdom. She told the king and the queen that she would be doing all of the cooking. The queen was delighted because she had many royal things to attend to and the king was happy because he didn't like to cook either.

Will the princess learn to cook? Will she burn down the house? Will the royal family survive her learning? Find out next time as the Italian pilot teaches the Princess to cook continues.
